Marian Brothers is in Partnership with Africa Directors implementing Microcredit program and Village saving and Loans Association whose majority empower especially Women in the refugee camp of Bibibidi(Zone4) and the National through financial support and business kill training in order to elevate them from household based poverty and live a dignified life. Loan recipients support themselves through their increased income, as well as employing others and generating business for their supply chain.

The Marian Brothers Success Stories over the Years

A)Temugambe Gloria a group member of Okuranga savings group.
She is a hairstylist dealing in a small salon and selling of waves the activity which take place in her salon include; coloring and styling, waxing and other forms of hair removal, planting, hair treatment and nail treatment
She spends around UGX 500,000/=monthly to stock in the salon and gets a profit of around UgX 30,000-40,000/= daily.
Her business has been in existence for 12 years and she has been in the microcredit program for 6 years she expresses her gratitude for Marian Brothers for extended financial support to them through Marian Brothers.
From the profits, she uses some for buying food items, paying for medical bills. She also bought some hens that she is rearing. She says, she picked the loan and used it for buying a goat. She intends to Increase the size of the stock buy next year since she has school going children.
B) ASINA KASIM, Is also one of the Members of Okuranga saving Group
She operates a restaurant business where she sells food to the customers her business has been in existence for 5 years and she has been in the microcredit program for 5 years she got the first loan and used it as capital to start up her restaurant business which is running up to now. She expresses her joy to Marian Brothers for their support by giving them training on VSLA methodology and Organizing into group.
She spends on the item 300000/= on Tuesdays and Thursdays which are market days and on such a day she has allot of customers and she makes a profit of 90000-100000/= meanwhile on other days which are not market days she spends 200000/= on items and makes a profit of 50000/=
From the profits, she is paying her 3 children who are all in school, she also bought a motorcycle which she has given to someone who rides bodaboda and from the bike she makes a profit of 60000/= weekly


C) KASARA ZAITUN,is also one of the members of Okuranga saving Group
She sells in the market and the items include Onions, Tomatoes, green paper, rice, andbeans. She has a capital of 200000/= she has been in the microcredit program for 7 years and her business has existed for 25 years she expresses her gratitude her to Marian brothers for supporting them she said since she joined the group she standard of living in her home has improved greatly previous they had 2 meals a day sometimes once but now they have 4 meals a day
D) Micro Credit
Under Microcredit, We give out Loans to women in phase, ranging from Phase 1 to Phase 4 That is 100,000/=, 200,000/= 300,000/=and 400,000/= respectively.

F) Adiru Rukia a group member of Odokibo savings group
She operates a small business dealing in toasted groundnuts, boiled eggs, Avocado and many others. She spends around UGX25000shs to UGX30000/=and gets a profit of around UGX60000/= weekly
She has bought some goats and hens from the profits she made she expresses her gratitude for Marian brothers for extended financial support to the women in the community and she wishes to continue with loan because it has been so beneficial to her and the entire family.


G) Ajidiru Jesca is also one of the members of Odokibo saving group
Jesca stands near her goats’ house during a visit at her home. She expresses her joy to Marian brothers for their support by giving them training on VSLA methodology and organizing into group She possess with her goats that she bought out of the money she saved.
She also makes a local alcohol where she gets money to repay her loan and pays school fees, medical bills and clothing from the profits she makes. She brews alcohol twice a week on Mondays and Fridays which helps her to raise enough money for her day to day expenses, she also said as being a widow she needs to work extra hard to earn money since there is no one to support her.
H) TAGANZA ZULAIKA, is also one of the members of Okuranga saving Group
She sells in the market and the items include Onions, Tomatoes, green paper, rice, and beans she has been doing this business for 10 years now, she has a capital of UGX150000/= she sells in the main market of lodonga on market days which are Tuesday and Thursday she makes profit of UGX13000-UGX15000/= and on other days she makes a profit of UGX5000-UGX7000 daily she expresses her joy to Marian brothers for bringing them financial assistance she also said in places like this it’s hard for someone to lend money to others this opportunity has given many women in the community financial freedom and forever she’s grateful.
